I don't even think they know their own lore or plans outside of the gen they are designed for. Probably the only consistency between gens is the design team.
I think the only time pokemon has been asked any fan theory stuff was about the Ditto being a failed mew clone. Which they just laughed and said "haha I don't know"

As for them being zodiac. I give the first few gens a free pass on it. But As long as it's something to do with the zodiac animal i'd say it's good enough.
A chicken could be a cocatrice, rooster, silkie, giant egg with bird feet, moltres, a pheonix.
I'd count it good enough there.
As for the fox/dog thing. I'd count dingos, wolves, fenrir, bushdog. For rats, anything rodent like.
When it comes to fuecoco, I will still have to see what it's final evolution is. As it stands now, it's in this weird spot where it is a crocodile, with a egg on it's head. So maybe the rooster again? Maybe it turns into a snake, maybe it turns into a fucking monkey who knows. If it turns into a Basilisk, well it's name is "King of the serpents" But even then that's a lil much.
My argument always comes back to. How much proof would people need to validate the theory. Would they believe it if the next gen was an ox/ram/serpent Or would they only believe it when it's confirmed by masuda?
