As for Magnemite idk, but I think the majority could agree that it's more interesting than ice cream with a face.

Look up at Dragalge. That's fucking creative and inspired pokemon. Looks like a real monster that could possibly live in the ocean.
That's how they should create pokemon. Not drawing a blob, put some circles on it, little balls, as a hands and call it Belibolt, because it has belly and is electric. Shit uninspired designs this gen.

Yeah, back in 99' as a kid you wanted a charizard, badass fucking dragon with flame on his tail. Or a venusaur, which is a fucking dinosaur frog with a palm tree on his back. And now imagine a child wanting a bellibolt because it's so round, and easy to manufacture as a plushie.

Also Flamigo clearly has as balloon animal aesthetic, its just a bit hard to make out in the menu sprite
