Let me recap the history of the starters
>Gen 1 Pokemania
>Gen 2 tries to estabilish patterns, tries the beast/animal (meaning no designs like Hypno or Magneton) again for the starters but they're nowhere near as popular as Gen 1 ones
>Gen 3 has a starter that is not 100% based on an animal but has humanoid qualities too: Blaziken
>They copy the fire/fighting animal with humanoid qualities (martial artist) again with Infernape and it works
>They do it again with Emboar but fails
>So in Gen 6 they make ALL the starters into jobmons, hoping at least one succeds, that's why they shilled Greninja so hard
And the rest should be obvious from here.
All starters will be jobmons from now on. No more Charizard or Torterra.
