Autistic rules to build your pokemon team. My rules:

>Each pokemon has to have different nature
>Each pokemon has to have different types of course
>At least one pokemon that cannot evolve
>1 girly pokemon maximum
>1 pseudo pokemon maximum

I like useful natures, no type overlap, genders to match the aesthetic or color of the mon usually, and the ball to match the color as well. Like the red Gyarados you get in Johto games, I like that to be female and in a regular pokeball.

If I see a shiny I have to use it, even if it sucks
Catch 15-30 Pokémon in a route then come back to pick what I want to use
I always try to get a beneficial nature on the Pokémon I use, monkey brain likes to see numbers go up
I ev train everything the moment I catch them, monkey brain again
Set, no items in battle

That's the only real rules I have, I'm amazed people care so much about type overlaps, I have used empoleon, steelix, bastiodon, gastrodon, tentacruel and probopass in the same team and I wasn't even doing a steel type run, catching a bunch of Pokémon then coming to your box to see what is usable is the most fun I have in the games, feels like a roulette sometimes

at a given point yeah, no type overlap can feel kind of silly (especially for SV where you could only use Primeape evo with Meowscarada or one of the armor mons if you don’t pick Skeledirge). Imo having 2-3 of the same type one team should be more universal, but honestly if it works and doesn’t share too many universal weaknesses it should be good
