Destiny can recognize his weakness to Dark spam and can add one or more Tera types that resist Dark.
Star can, with his meta game knowledge, deduce that Slowbro is a likely candidate to Terastallize and that it'll Terastallize into something that would cover its weaknesses.
Almost every Pokemon is going to use a pool of 2-3 different potential Tera types and saying this is "too random" is the equivalent of saying "moves are too random" because you don't know if Volcarona is gonna run Ember or some shit. If Slowbro picks a shit Tera type like Ice and you manage to lose to that, you absolutely deserve that lose or your opponent absolutely deserves that win.
