He's pretty slow, super weak to special attack, and his special attack stat isn't that great. And it seems his hidden ability is pretty useless in most cases. I think it's a sold pass.

The best starter is the cat with its hidden ability, but even then I feel like I'd get better mileage out of something like Electric Teratype Hydreigon with Levitate.
