Smogon tries to make every playstyle viable. The thing is without heavy regulations and bans stall hasn't been viable since like gen 4 so it may seem like Smogon has a stall bias. That said most people who complain about the shit Smogon bans have never used a stallbreaker in their lives and just try to win by spamming attacks with their starter using 4 STAB moves.

Because spikes and stealth rocks help stall more by providing chip damage, and the entire point of Stall is to force your opponent to switch to X and Y stallbreaker because very few if any mons can take out Ferropex core by themselves.

I can tell you're just trolling, but I'll bite.
The more focused and single-minded a strategy is, the more "automatic" the plays become. Rain HO? Predictable. Set up rain and position in the most appropriate rain sweeper. Hard Stall? Predictable. Go to what cannot be challenged by the current offensive threat in front of you. What even grants these kinds of battles "depth" is that plays are predictable for BOTH players, meaning that the opponent has the opportunity for daring predictions, but that's it. Compared to something like Balance vs Balance the margins are thinner and room for "out play" tighter.

Personally, I don't dislike stall anymore than I dislike HO. They''re both "push button" team styles that are immediately recognizable and predictable at team preview.
