You need to:
- have two compatible pokemon in your pat
- start a picnic
- make and eat a sandwich
- check the picnic basket
- rinse and repeat
eventually an egg appears in the basket between sandwiches. it's awful and takes a very long time

mints were added in SwSh.
Grit only works in PLA because PLA's stats dont have any sense of like, minmaxing, its just "make all stats better".
Anyway, shocked to hear they'd make breeding more tedious, considering they'd been working on making it easier every game until now. I sure hope that the development team didnt play fucking pixelmon or something and suddenly get horrible ideas.

compatible doesn't mean it has to be from the same species
there's something such as egg groups, which makes so that basically a rock can breed with a rock, a fish with a fish, a bug with a bug etc

Also what about Magma/Flame Body to speed up hatching? That'd be three slots minimum and not even a guarantee to get what you want if they're all compatible.

As far as I'm aware the premise of this thread is BS. picnics basically function as a portable daycare. You can walk around and come back to a picnic and an egg will be there.

You do not need to make the sandwich. Quit doomposting.

It's basically the same as before but you can do it anywhere and have to empty out your party a bit. You be can optionally make a sandwich to increase odds. That's all.

Okay, I've actually tried a bit and I think it's a pretty good system. Managed to generate an egg a minute and I'll say what my process is so people can replicate.
>Go to Medali village(Normal Gym leader, was here trying to catch a Ditto but can't seem to for the life of me find it)
>Go to the Gastronomie en Famille(Egg Power Lv. 2)
>Go camping with your viable Pokemon
>DO NOT make a sandwich, it'll wipe your current egg buff
>Take out the ball for your Pokemon to play with(no idea if their steps count, I'm just being paranoid and it's free)
>Go to the edge of your campsite and hold up and right to have the barrier slowly make you round the area
>From there just walk while you listen to a Podcast or watch a video, the picnic basket can hold more than one egg, not sure what it caps at, I stopped at two

Not sure how long the Egg buff lasts but it seems to be gone now. I have 9 eggs but I assume my efficiency was terrible and people will optimize it. Guess I should probably check for Flame Body now.

Besides that and Magma Armor, is there anything else that can affect hatching eggs like a time-based incubator similar to Gen 7's Pelago hot springs?

Costs 2,800, so there probably are cheaper ways to get Egg Power or even more powerful levels.

Seems pretty easy to get steps with Korraidon though. These eggs hatched way before I expected and I was kind of just fucking around with other stuff. Also thought I only had the parents for Maschiff but apparently there was a viable partner for my female Fuecoco in there.

Stop being obtuse, they got added as Game Freak want more normies to try VGC as well as reduce the number of retards hacking/injecting (not saying it doesn't still happen, but many who would try have no need to now they can build comp-ready 'mons with items). Just like bottle caps and ability capsules/patches, they're added to reduce the need to retardgrind or breed endlessly for a particular 'mon/ability/nature/whatever combo (they're even allowing Tera type changes natively, instead of waiting for DLC, like they withheld Gmax factor in SS) so it's unlikely they just up and vanish.
