Make it sprite-based. Many of these designs wouldn't have been THAT bad with the imperfection of sprites and a proper pose with more personality

This design is just basic shapes stapled together, it looks like a blender newbie made a creature from his mind and not like an organic creature that could exist, eat, live, breath etc. Also how the fuck is that supposed to be a spider?

Make the limbs bulge or thin a bit so they're not just cylinders.

If he had to stand on legs I'd prefer he keep his ball and maybe have knitting needles like anons have said. Maybe it could have one pair of super strong arms that can wrap its prey very fast instead of shooting from its ass like a regular spider.
