I still dislike a majority of Gen 8 mons. Gen 9 has some really bad or weird designs but overall it's a lot more solid than Gen 8

GOD i wish there were more decent pokemon. only 5 3 stage lines that aren't starters, and most of them aren't worth it. only one i find appealing from them is the pseudo

It feels like it'll be a relatively hassle free gen for finishing up the living dex.

Assuming the shushi fish and bird don't have any super rare colors.

There's nothing annoying like cosmogs 2nd Evo or kubfu where getting a second is a pain in the ass. Or anything like Alcreamy with 90 different varieties.

The stupid Pokemon go exclusive form of gimmighoul wl probably be the worst.

Gen 8 is far better, and Gen 8 is really bad. Gen 9 is so bad I can only assume most of the pokemon are designed by the guy that made blitbug in SwSh.

Pretty much what everyone else said. I disliked a lot of Gen 8, but when I went back and looked at it, it puts how fucking weird 9 is into perspective.

its an evolution. it has 2 stages, but the 2nd stage is identical except for its name and the heart on the chest because it gains the ability to turn into the superhero

For gen 8, I had expectations for several mons and they turned out bad/boring (Starters, Yamper, Rolycoly, Wooloo, Jumpluff but Grass only) and it's the other way around for gen 9.

It's an unfair compare though, things like Stonjourner or Milcery already tampered my expectations for what was coming.

Depends on how you count. Going by dex entries makes this the biggest generation since Unova and on par with Sinnoh, having already surpassed it if counting the two DLC paradoxes and/or the hinted legendary/mythical.
