>>52023718Spidops learnset is actually super-cool. The moves that it does get make its playstyle extremely apparent and I think it'll actually have a nich role now instead of being COMPLETELY useless
I can see it running Focus Sash as a Sticky Web leador as a heavy duty boots phaser and physical sweeper stopper
Whenever Spidops hits the field against a physical attacker it just becomes a guessing game of Silk Trap, Circle Throw, Throat Chop, (free move). You can force sweepers to either eat a speed drop and face a potential counter sweep after Spidops gets K.O.d the next turn or switch out and eat a Stakeout boosted move and have your Mons shuffled taking more entry hazards damage or a debuff from its other moves like Skitter Smack/Sticky Web. Circle Throw+Throat Chop gives it great coverage and Circle Throw plus hazards means you're doing a mean amount of chip to their team whenever they guess wrong.
If you really wanna get crazy you can run it with Bug or Fighting teratype. Fighting makes the chip damage huge, doing almost half to Corviknight when rocks are factored in. If it gets U-turn the Bug teratype could be huge, forcing pokemon to switch and then smacking the incoming mon with a stakeout boosted 3x Stab U-turn. That's crazy damage and you get to pocket him again for later use. Or run Skitter Smack to debuff Special attackers that wanna switch in so you have an easier time pivoting.
Definitely super niche but I think people are really throwing him away way too early. His moveset and ability really pave the way for some interesting plays and set-ups. Definitely more of a support mon but he'll be fun to play around with at the very least
