I really hope the official artwork for Dudunsprace, the mouse houshold and the Dolphin highlight some differences between them and their pre-evos

No kidding. Pawmot should have been middle, then we could have had something like my favorite fakemon of all time as the third stage if they really wanted to make it three

The second form is such a minor change that they had to desaturate it’s color just to make it look a bit more different

That fakemon is pretty cool too

I'm convinced they wanted to give it more Pikachu parallels. The colors on pawmi 2 and 3 are somewhat similar to Pikachu and Raichus colors and it's the only reason I can think of for the random color changes.
