It's basically one of the things people have come to enjoy and expect from these games, like an extra layer of enjoyment that can come out of it. Like how smash is a party game but the mechanics are so good some people can be sweaty and tryhard with it like if it was a serious fighting game too.
Pokemon is synonymous with many things, and one of them are attractive girls and if a pokemon game is lacking that it's basically lacking one of the thing that defines the franchise.
None of this is accidental tho, these characters were built for sex appeal, for cuteness, for appeal.
Very much a feature of the game and finding them attractive is simply part of experiencing the games fully.
I'd question anyone playing pokemon and not finding the pixel women attractive.
