It has personality, the expression of it biting its lip in frustration or anger as it tilts its head indignantly as if doing that "Haaahn!?" noise delinquents in Japanese media do when they're being challenged. Its appeal is comedic, the brutish appearance mixed with the attitude it has is probably going to earn it a spot on the teams of people who like "ugly" or "punkish" Pokemon. I believe Mabosstiff is the stereotype of "innocent old man is actually a crime lord" which people will still like.
>>52042067>too many toesActually I noticed this seemed to be a thing in SV, usually Pokemon would have about 3 fingers on average give or take a few, but Pokemon like Maschiff and Tinkaton have more than it seems like they should. It's really weird to look at when you notice it, but it looks worse on Tinkaton. I dunno if they're the only two who are like this, or if there are more, but I'm not really a fan of it myself.
