Pokemon has never been in a worse state. The last time it was this bad was prior to Gen 7, no one cared about the franchise until Pokémon Go released in the summer of 2016 and brought back all of the Gen 1 mons which people love. But now, there can be no Go resurgence, Pokemon Go is now releasing Gen 7 pokemon from Sun and Moon, and it has never been less popular.

The Paldean Pokemon are like all of the worst aspects of the Ultra Beasts, without any of the excuse that they're just extra dimensional aliens and not real pokemon. I don't see how the franchise can recover from this. Gen 10 would have to completely change GameFreak's current design philsophy, otherwise this franchise is over, and I don't think GameFreak has the integrity required to actually admit that they've been wrong with their current philosophy.
