I'm not crazy about this region's Pokémon; quality wise, it's down there with generations 2 and 3, failing to even compete with the next level at generations 5, 6 and 8, and never even coming close to the quality of generations 1, 4 and 7.
Now, while this is all my subjective thinking, of course, but the main problem with Paldea's Pokémon (me thinks) is that some are rendered oddly (ostrich, grasshopper, quagsire, peppers) and far too many are either small (sushi, pink hammer, mice, most pre evos), goofy (worm, salt, frog, dunsparce, olives, dolphin, crane, parrot, flamingo, bisharp, regional fakes) or repetitive (3 dog lines, pawmi, all the future paradox, some of the past paradox, just... paradox in general?). That's not to say that the other 8 generations don't also suffer from some or all of those problems (aside from the weird 3d model textures), but this generation is just pushing all of the wrong buttons in the right combination so to speak. It's tough to put one's finger on it.
