I mean, I don't disagree, but at the same time aren't the "tusks" basically the main pokemon itself? I've avoided the lore on these things, but from what I gather, aren't they cursed items that are pulling in natural elements to make bodies for themselves?

I noticed that too but it makes sense when you realize the animals are just a bunch of snow/flames/leaves/dirt. Aesthetically not very pleasing but they're supposed to look "cursed".

The fish is probably about incidental disaster.

It's a tiny-ass goldfish that just so happens to create torrents of lava and molten rock as it goes about it's business because it's so hot.

In one version of their inspirational basis, a criminal was deemed so because the blame had fallen on them from when the dam they built was broken and flooded the dynasty as a major catastrophe.

You could make a point of the "eyes" not being actual eyes but just mimicry for intimidation but it's still lacking the wings and 6 feet Hundun is known for so I think it might be a bit of a stretch
