Yeah gamefreak are the kings of one step forward and two steps back, but the second the breeding mechanic was leaked to be different I knew they'd find a new way to handle shinies. They've always been autistically careful about shinies, going well out of their way to make sure you don't encounter one you can't catch in swsh after the disaster that was losing shinies in LGPE.

I know he's overexaggerating his reaction to make it feel more dramatic, but has anyone actually had anything close to a genuine reaction like this when finding a shiny? Even when I'm hunting them, when I find one I'm just like "damn, finally". Watching poketubers flail around like this doesn't even feel 0.00001% genuine.

I got my first shiny in Sun when looking in a Berry pile and I had a pretty visceral reaction because it had been waiting since Gen 2 for one.

When I was catching Heatran in SP I didn't care about saving I just went in, first encounter was a shiny
I just sat there in silence for around 20 seconds letting the camera go around before laughing for a bit and catching it, that's the strongest reaction I ever had to a shiny

I don't think I have had anything crazy, even for projects that took a lot of soft resets, the strongest reaction I had was saying to a friend that "I'm glad it's fucking over" back in college
