There is only so much room to spread, so eventually similar ideas covering the same subject meet each-other and try to take from the other. (Not every person supporting ideals necessarily wants to expand, but generally there is enough desire from either side for conflict.). In fair competition of ideals the one based around self-control spreads a lot worse than one, based in self indulgence. In even competition self-indulgence rolls self-control. I've seen the major culture of so many forums/social platforms switch. Steming from a small group who enjoyed other aspects of that platforms culture, who were sectioned off. That groups numbers grew and culture shifted, as my side went from hypermajority to small enclave to gone.
It will inevitably happen here (hell we stole this from your side, due to external factors). If I were to lay down my arms, and agree to you and I go to our own little enclaves, yours will grow faster and inevitably seek the destruction of ours.
