They've really stretched what is means to be a fighting type with the last few gens, same with ghost. There's nothing about this design that's fighting type, it is just able to kick because it has legs, it is literally a basic ass flamingo. Remember when they felt they had to go as far to merge a luchador with a bird to create a flying/fighter?

I don't have a stake in this race because I really don't care but I do kind of agree with this to an extent. Pokemon is at its best IMO when it puts a spotlight on weird zoology shit, like Decidueye or w/e being a ghost type because it's based off of an owl species that was native to Hawaii but has since gone extinct. It helps it looks cool, but still.
