The games will keep being designed in such a way that makes Nuzlocking them basically impossible. This will be done by blurring the lines of what a "Route" is as much as humanly possible, mandating as much capturing as possible for game progress, disabling the options that allowed you to make the game even slightly more difficult (EXP share and Switch Mode forced on), and generally making the games easier with every release.
They'll fuck with competitive players by destroying every defensive tool and every Buffing ability, take away Staple Moves forever, and Powercreep the game so hard that the Meta consistently remains dominated by a few oppressive mons.
