you're a child if you don't understand. 27 and grew up on gen 1 and 2 when i was the age gamefreak likes to pander to, and absolutely loved all 3 of the gen 1 starters. i've had major ADHD my whole life, so I would constantly start a new game after getting bored around the 3rd gym leader, so i've used them all countless times. it got worse when the remakes came out.
pokemon was at it's 2nd peak in gen 3 with schools, and everyone had them. when we would all play ruby and sapphire together, i wondered what everyones favorite starter was in the other game fire red and leaf green, and almost without fail they would say "wait leaf green? i didn't know there was another one." "oh yeah charmander for sure!" "OMG I LOVE CHARIZARD HE PWNS EVERYTHING". i'd always respond with "well what about the other ones?". big mistake. they would not stop fucking crying about how "ugly" and "stupid" they were. every single fucking kid who loved charizard did this without fail. they were your typical /v/ faggot who would complain and complain and complain. none of them even knew what venusaur looked like either, since they never saw it.
the fucked up thing is that this hasn't changed in the slightest today. i used to love charizard as much as the others, but after this insane cult like behavior with different people who don't even know each other saying the exact same thing word for word, and gamefreaks shilling out the ass, i've started to hate it more and more.
