The fact that the new protagonist has to look nonbinary to appease the west has destroyed any and all hype for our new protagonist. She just looks so plain! Gloria, Chicken-Chan, Hilda, Dawn, etc are beloved to this day but she has no standout qualities, no personality. She's the boy model with pigtails. That's it.

She is a blank template that anyone could imprint onto which has killed any potential she may have had in fanworks. Hopefully this doesn't become a trend
