For pokemon changes Ultra has the 3 necrozma forms, extra lycanroc, 2 ultra beasts, 3 exclusive Z moves, the legendary dump in post-game like ORAS, unique homeworlds for unlimited Ultra Beasts, Rainbow Rocket, and forced artificial game time in Mantine Surf. If I had a gun to my head forcing me to choose to play a Gen 7 game now I would go with an original version for a story element everyone remembers Gen 7 for, but when Gen 7 was the current generation picking up Ultra was better for move tutors and guaranteed no compatibility issues for multiplayer using relevant forms.
