Does snowstorm not retain hail's damaging of non-ice types? Or does it at least boost the power of ice attacks? If it's really only a +1 defense boost and nothing else, ice type is still stuck with the worst weather.

It's only a Defense boost, but also Blizzard accuracy and the usual abilities (Snow Cloak, Ice Body, Slush Rush). You're underestimating it.

Factoring in Aurora Veil Snow teams can have +2 Def and +1 Sp.Def as long as it's active which is a huge boon. Plus now that hail doesn't damage the snow team has much more build freedom

Guys help me find uses for Scream Tail and Brute Bonnet. Scream Tails stats seem pretty lackluster with its movepool unless i'm blind and i really hate that brute bonnet has no good physical grass options

It's an invisible +1 boost to their best stat (think Unburden speed boost). Keep in mind that Booster Energy is a consumable item so you're only getting the boost once per battle.

At least they get refreshed during the post-game School Tournament. Unsure about wild battles or any other type of trainer battle.

Yeah toxic is a premium now, and with the recover/roost nerfs too black sludge is one of the better recovery tools

Well, before future paradoxes there were only mediocre Electric Terrain abusers. Now that we have some real threats I can see sacrificing a slot to Pincurchin, but it really depends on how strong the futuremons really are.

Previously BP-exclusive items are now easily and cheaply bought for money or LP in the Battle Item Shops. Balloon costs like 10k pokedollars.

What moveset works best for Hisuian Samurott? I actually kinda feel like he has too many options now. I'm thinking either a scarf user focusing on sharpness based attacks (Aqua Cutter/Ceaseless Edge/Sacred Sword) or revenge killer with CE or Knock Off utility on the side. He got Drill Run but I'm not sure if he can fit it into his sets if he wants to lean into utility.

Why would you run a scarf base 68 speed mon without any speed EVs? If you wanna really use this thing then a Last Respects Sand Rush set is probably your best bet, just make sure your penultimate Pokemon is a Tyranitar lol. Then go with Life Orb just in case the opponent has a Normal-type and you need to change moves.

In VGC they also EV mons specifically to survive some stuff barely rather than going 252/252.

How are you guys finding/theorizing Terra forms to work best? My gut instinct was that it’ll be best as a weakness counter and you’re really going to want raid mons for mono types. Like I’m trying to raise a Greavard right now (can only seem to find fire, dragon and fighting so far) but I would think popping idk Normal Tera would be the go to for him to cover his weakness. But I’m not sure if that’s actually the best usage considering you lose STAB

Run it in sun with Black Glasses, Sucker Punch, Seed Bomb, Spore and Growth. If Proto works as expected and is a multiplier on top of stats, it can do stuff like oneshotting offensive ttar after two growths with a Sucker Punch. I don't think so. I tera'd my Corviknight into Fighting while Grassy Terrain was active and it recovered health, meaning the Flying-type + Terrain interaction was ruled over. I would assume the same goes for Ice and Rock/Steel/Ground types in Snow and Sandstorm, respectively.

Bellibolt makes me sad. For a cool looking pokemon there's no use for it.
I don't mind the slowness of it, because that at least lines up with getting hit -> activating Electromorphosis -> doing a charged hit, but that's pretty much the only thing it can do. It's got shit all for coverage, and it's not like there aren't other electric types around that can just do that better

Electric is just not that good of a defensive typing, but Bellibolt is not a bad mon by itself. Its stats are fine for a tank, it has recovery, and can hit back. Probably will find usage in the lower tiers as a Sp. Def pivot with Volt Switch, which should hurt quite a bit after getting hit and activating Elctromorphosis.

Maybe they're testing the grounds in this generation before they hand it out to multiple ice types, like they did with Freeze-Dry and Aurora Veil.
Ice has become the official type that sucks defensively but gets some of the most broken things in the game (freeze, Sheer Cold, Freeze-Dry, Aurora Veil and now this).

Everyone is (rightfully) creaming themselves over Ice types supported by this move, but it still works with the team compositions that Teleport Slowking used to be ran on. Snow doesn't damage your allies so it doesn't have a drawback aside from making opposing Ice types slightly harder to take down. Also Galarian Slowking can use it (it couldn't use Teleport) and while I think it's worse for snow abusing cores since it doesn't resist Fire and Steel, it may be better in more generalist teams that just want the momentum and Future Sight.

It's a scarab.
In egyptian mythology (roughly, cause like you'd have to pick a specific time period to get a solid stance) the sun is carried across the sky by 3 different gods: Khepri, the rising sun, Ra, the midday sun, and Atum, the setting sun.
Scarab beetles, seen as creatures that arose from nothing (they weren't quite solid on insect reproduction back then) were associated with Khepri, who was often depicted as either scarab headed or simply as a scarab.

On Smogon there is some talk about paradox Jigglypuff being the best counter for Koraidon. Can it also work in OU? It's very bulky, the typing is decent, has Wish and it's very fast for a wall. With all the dark types around STAB Moonblast should at least scare them off.

At least Chien-Pao has Ice Shard on steroids and the same speed and Iron Bundle has 136 speed and gets even faster under electric terrain. They did give us some form of reasonable counterplay unlike Calyrex-S, Zacian and Necrozma-DM
