There's a lot more variation in the terrain, there's actually stuff to find and the cities are amazing. And I'm the same as you. I just love riding around exploring shit. LA couldn't quench my thirst for exploration too well, but SV definitely did. The wisp equivelant is stakes, which is similar but there's less of them I think. They unlock the new legendary quartet. There's also the Gimmighoul shit if you care about that.
I wasn't too sure about the story until the 4th main quest started where it suddenly kicked in to 100 out of nowhere. It's similar to SM's style of story if you liked that, but the "main" story is just kind of you exploring the world and doing the objectives with bits of story in between, nothing major though.
