>>52127721you can really tell that in gen 5 they decided that almost all feminine looking mons had to be all female from then on. in gens 1-4 most 100% female gender ratioed are the equivelent to 100% male pokemon species, (nidoran female line, miltank, illumise, latias, wormadam), or had a specific maternal or matriarchal theme (chansey line, kangaskahn, vespiquen, miltank again). the only outliers from these gens are jynx, frosslass, and cresselia. jynx just basically looks like a cartoon woman, frosslass is based on a myth or something about a woman('s ghost), and cresselia is a legendary. starting with gen 5 though they gave basically any remotely feminine design they came up with a 100% female gender ratio. the only all female pokemon from these gens that fit into the previous categories are salazzle and the vullaby line (kinda). it feels like in past gens they gave something a 100% female gender ratio because it made sense, whereas now they do it because it looks like a girl. i'm honestly shocked they gave lurantis a 50/50 ratio, because being a pink biped seems to be enough to be all female nowdays. basically, what i'm saying is bring back my poketraps.
