With no gym badge, any Pokémon caught at level 20 or higher WILL disobey you.

Will online trivialize stuff like this? I really enjoy it, but if others join with OP legendaries it'll ruin it for me. I didn't play SWSH so I have no idea about how raids work.

I fucked around and did the "jump backwards up a hill" glitch yesterday and ended up catching a level 40 Greavard evolution who is Ground Terratype before the first gym. It was awesome, but he didn't listen to me at all lol.

Honestly this.
I caught that level 45 dolphin pokemon some place before I fucking did anything. And then I sent out my cat and she somehow wiped the floor with all the water pokemon there despite her being like level 10 and she and the party I had got to 30 in no time.

You can get exp crystals from tera raids like ShSw. Dunno about candies since iv only tried low rarity raids, but most likely.

I was able to get to here by backwards jumping through a cave and initiating pokemon battles through extra steep cliffs. Then I was able to kill a bunch of Sinistea pokemon for their shards so I could evolve my Charcadet before the third gym.

Pfft no it hasn't. People who do single pokemon challenges or specially, the proffesor oak challenges can tell you that even in the early gens you could have pokemon way higher than the cap level adve and they would obey you no problem
