>>52124094It's a nod to the relationship between Egyptian plovers and Nile crocodiles. The birds sit in the crocs' jaws and pick out bits of meat that get stuck in their teeth. The birds get food and protection from predators, and the crocs get dental hygiene.
As for the bird's role with Skeledirge itself, we don't really know yet. We know the bird can become a sorta microphone for it, and the bird can also attack, but what else it's meant to represent, we don't know yet. A basilisk, a bird's egg hatched into a reptilian king of serpents? Maybe. A Day of the Dead reference none of us whitebois know about? Maybe.
I'm sure we'll get more detailed info about it when the starter evos are officially "revealed" in, oh, a week or three, judging by the "reveals" of the SwSh and PLA starter evos.
