How did they get character designs so right in SwSh yet they completely missed the mark with character designs this gen?

Leon's design is just a ripoff of Ren Hiyama from LBX; they're both final bosses too.
Grusha even looks like Kazemaru from inazuma eleven. But they both share the same anime studio so it might be the same batch of artists.
