Pretty gay if trainers are dumb but now I can sort of roleplay and roll up to a gym with the same amount of pokemon the opponents do and we both don't use items.

Still wish the trainers were better, but I guess it well never happen.

This is the problem with big scripted moments like terastals. The music changes absolutely depend on it so you can be sure a gym leader will never switch in their ace halfway through the battle.

Good, I've never once been in trouble because a NPC used a full restore, all it did was prolong the fight for another couple of turns and piss me off.

As if they were switching in previous games. The only cases of switching i remember were only because of switching move or perish song.
People say that npc also used to switch when every single one of their mons move can't hit your pokemon, but i've never been in such situation so no idea if it's true.

They did way more often than in SV and there were specific situations in which they did. They also used items which they barely do in SV. This is the worst AI in a pokemon game which is saying a lot. We went from bad to worse and you need to stop defending it.
