Well, Scizor this is assuming Scizor isn't banded or using LO, that would be a guaranteed OHKO otherwise. It's not meant for you but this is one of reasons why people underestimate how much better Mega Scizor is compared to regular Scizor, what could be a guaranteed kill now is a dice roll, what could be a 3HKO is now a 2HKO

So I think the core 3 for this would be:

Maushold/Espartha/Chi-Yu with the others being swapped depending on the scenario.

Maushold helps Espartha to set up for either a sweep or Baton Pass opportunity. Chi-Yu makes a good BP recipient because of its already good Speed and Special Attack stats. Combined with it's 25% debuff to Special Defense, it will be scary with the proper support.

Iron Valiant is there as not only a back up sweeper, but also anti-priority measure with Quick Guard.

Baxcalibur and Dachsbun both take advantage of Chi-Yu's Lava Plume. The first raising it's Attack stat when hit, the second being immune to damage and getting a +2 Defense Boost. Both would also appreciate the boosts from Espartha as well. Baxcalibur is the offensive option and the only physical attacker outside of Dachsbun's Body Press.

Has some weird and funky combos, and could be oppressive on the Special Side. Some answers would probably be Trick Room and Fast Physical Attackers. Priority moves could be an issue as well if Iron Valiant is not on the field.

According to the internal codenames of both grass Tentacool and Tentacruel, they were supposed to be Magikarp and Gyarados at first but changed during development. So it’s kind of believable they didn’t realize making a fast shroom pokemon was dangerous until it was too late.

God forbid you have to think when playing the game. Dynamax was stupid broken, but there's a lot of counterplay to terastilization that could be fun. For example, terastilizing roaring moon into fire type to cover its fairy weakness and punch through steels, but now it's weak to rock, ground and water and if you switch him out you suddenly lose your terastilization

What do you think? Since its physical attack is higher people are mainly going to try to counter that. So, here's something that is meant to catch people off guard. For its stab move, I pick Moonblast for its fairy typing. Its fighting typing was trickier as it come down to, "Never miss attack but average damage or high damage but higher chance to miss" so I would like to see how that turn out. I gave it Psychic so that it can catch poison types off guard and potentially kill them. The last one is up to you, give it calm mind to boost its already high special attack higher especially if using life orb or shadow ball for ghost and psychic types.

Here's another one, a mixed set:

I think Quagsire will have a place in the intial OU metagame. Chien-Pao basically needs to Ice terra to get past it. Quag can wall it even harder as terra-Water, unless Chien-Pao has a Grass or Electric terra type.

I think he just needs a better ability. People are interested in Hisui Arcanine because he's got BIG BOY DAMAGE with Rock Head but honestly Fire/Rock makes me grimace and he's nowhere near as cool as the OG. I would remove Arcanine cause legendarys is cheap xP and swap out Blissey for something more useful... maybe Umbreon with an annoyer set? You can use Mean Look and Confuse Ray together so they can't switch. Hope this helps!

it's completely stupid honestly, and like its a twofold thing. The better your typing is defensively, the more you lose from choosing to Terastal. The worse your typing is defensively AND offensively, the more you gain from Terastal. It is explicitly a mechanic that more heavily benefits you the more disadvantaged your type is, and generally speaking, the better your typing, the better you perform, since bad typing will hold you back no matter what your stats are. And Ice or Rock type gains WAY more from Terastal than a Steel or Fairy type ever will

Tera benefits high BST/good spreads/good abilities above all else. Zarude has a ridiculous spread and in theory is a monster with tera, but it doesn't have the movepool to really take advantage of switching types.
Melmetal however, should it come back, is banworthy with it. Steel, Fighting, or Rock are all options for shredding teams and crossing up checks.

I love the idea of Armarouge as an offensive TR setter. I might try it myself when the game is out.
Change Seed Bomb in Scovillain for Rage Powder in case you need a secondary redirector (or choose only one grass STAB). It has good synergy with Roaring Moon too because you can redirect moonblasts and play roughs into a fire type.
I’d consider playing around with other options in Great Tusk’s place that could improve your rain and Tyranitar matchup or add a mon with Intimidate.

Ghost resist is too important, probably gonna be super important this generation. Defensive Terastalizing is also not that great of an idea when it just offers so much more competitively, but if you really want to, I think either Water or Fairy are the best monotypes you could become defensively, in general.

110 sucks for a multitude of reasons. Inner Focus is a pretty minor loss all things considered
In general not being an obvious mega on account of being tied to a shitmon makes him inherently much scarier too; there is actually a factor of megas being decently predictable.

I do agree its not instant ban tier but saying its probably not OU is pushing it, its an incredibly versatile mon with a lot of shit to do and isn't that high investment; its already good ignoring trying to trigger that ability.
Can definitely see it going to ubers but i can see the logic in saying it might not make it; especially considering this gens powercreep.

Also pex got hit pretty hard if the transfer movesets are actually getting hit; it loses a shitload of stuff.

Electric terrain is definitely going to be a challenge, but there's a good chance that running electric terrain as a move on any of those fat mons like Hariyama is going to become viable.
It will effectively give it +1 atk and +50% electric damage so its not a bad move to use on him.

Another overlooked aspect of it is that Misty Terrain is MIA, while the other terrain setters are gimped, so there's no easy way to stop Electric Terrain once it's setup, unlike Sun which still has to deal with Tyranitar and Pelliper (and Slowing lol).

i think your best bet for a proto abuser for TR is probably brute bonnet. that 55 base speed will go far considering it has spore and good attacking stats. the issue is that the other "slowest" proto users are around 80 speed
great tusk might go far for your team if youre willing to try and bottom out its speed stat

I can tell you that Stantler has Psyshield Bash as a egg move, since obviously nothing else learns it the only legitimate method to evolve a Paldea caught Stantler would be to bring over a Wyrdeer and let it pass it off to Stantler. But if you hack you can't do it right now because it currently has the same dummy evolution method as Ursaring and Scyther. Most likely explanation is that when the game is updated to support Home they will patch in the actual evolution methods.

Armor Tail Farigiraf is looking like an overlooked TR setter, but it depends on how prevalent Fake Out will be this time around (there's nothing to suggest it won't be). Gets Helping Hand and screens on top of strong attacking stats. Kinda frail though and weird typing.

Your other option is also Rabsca. Revival Blessing has a lot of potential, gets Weather Ball which gives it Fire coverage in your team, as well as Memento, screens, alright coverage. Way bulkier than the giraffe too.

Mimikyu is still around and is a decent option. Some generic options like Cresselia and Hatterene are still around.
Personally i'm a bug believer but it probably not the greatest idea to do day 1.

In terms of transfer stuff there's also Wyredeer who has a decent support pool but is also probably too fast; also not in the game currently.

You can't really go wrong with Roaring Moon outside of the anti-trick room synergy :^)
Slither Wing may be nice.

For singles: is stacking ice types a bad idea even if you Terastal?
Slowking sets snow, Cetitan is the best Slush Rusher and Bundle has Aurora Veil+Flip Turn and very good STABs and speed. Baxcalibur can DD easily with snow and Aurora Veil and can Tera to another type.
Seems like a solid offensive core.
Suggestions for the remaining two slots? Definitely some hazard control and something else that covers the weaknesses.

Yeah thats kinda what i meant, additionally it'd cuck Torkoal and just other bad stuff.
Its certainly a nice looking mon but its not exactly this insane payoff when its suddenly going first.

Looking at it, it really is only Iron Hands if you want an impressive payoff. Course not everything needs to be a big payout.
Dundunsparce is the only other mon that really sticks out looking at it and i wouldn't really suggest dunsparce memes even if it won't instantly eat shit like it use to.

Stantler technically has Psyshield Bash in its Egg Moves list, but the only way to get that is from transferring a Stantler/Wyrdeer from Arceus so... yeah. I heard that people tried hacking it in and it still didn't evolve, which makes me think the actual evolution triggers will be added when Home compatibility is enabled.

Ursaring's evo item has had its icon updated so it's not impossible to believe that GF would add it to the game around that time, too.

As of now, there's no way to evolve them in-game.

I dunno if Swords Dance is exactly *necessary* but if you're willing to lose a bit of coverage, and if you feel like being a huge gimmick you could run it with Focus Sash and swords dance in front of an Earthquake or another big hit. It's not like you'll have to worry about the absurd increase in mons with TSpikes

Because corv fits balance play better. Mixed bulk is more splashable and easier for switches, effectively giving lower capability players greater return. Maybe getting a defog off (which could be beneficial to secure Shadow rider's sash, but odds are not as much as my sturdy, phasing spike setter) but splashable bulk isn't the resource required on my trade mons until I overwhelm you team.

I don't know the new speed tiers but 116 over 110 does nothing. You have Missy Moonblasting this thing to hell and back, as well as anything faster of newgen that easily OHKOs it, like Sneasler, Bundle. Unless they ban half of them Valiant will stay as a niche pick thanks to its ability to beat Dark types. Problem is, Urshifu already outspeeds everything that's threatening.

Why not both? In VGC you can build your team around the two so you can pick the one that fits better for the battle. They fill different roles and don't overlap weaknesses (except bug kek). Slowking can set up TR and Abomasnow can set up Aurora Veil.

Spiritomb gets Trick Room now, so I find it nice. It's decently bulky, has only one weakness and can't get Fake Out'd.
Scream Tail and Armarouge don't necessarily need TR to function but they can run it situationally (like Gengar or Gardevoir did in previous years)

You need pressure in VGC, and nothing does it like a setter, but you might be better off with a support mon setting Terrain manually.
