Anything that doesn't transfer gets converted into the new currency.

Still need to pay money to keep up with the meta, but is much more affordable.
Daily challenges are piss easy since they got nerfed. There was one or two ones that were impossible for F2P players at the start of the beta.
No theme format.

I'm gonna blow my 500 tickets on Expanded coin flip tourneys and try and trade my 5+ shits before transferring. If PTCGL doesn't crash constantly and have bot accounts around it'll be better than PTCGO by default.

Here's hoping that the new ex era will slow the game down a bit. Vs are cool and all but they are a wee but on the fast side. Granted I dont have the most experience playing the tcg, I only kinda watched for the past 4 or so years. Never had the friends nor time to go to an lgs to play the tcg, so this is the first time I'm actually really able to play.

No more trading but you can now craft cards. Ladder rewards reworked so that there’s a premium and a free version. Free version is still pretty good but you won’t get a full art. In exchange the paid pass gives you full sets of lugias and paid currency. I didn’t check if it gives you enough currency to buy the next one.

If you can buy 125 pack of any variety when you migrate your ptcgo account you’ll get 20,000 premium currency.

They’re still working out the economy so you can’t purchase anything after migration and you’re stuck with what you had.

It's all about the card rarities in that set.
Slot 1-2 are always rares (worth 100 each as dupes)
Slot 3 is a rare or classic collection card (worth 600 or 1000 as a dupe)
Slot 4 is a holo rare (125) or higher rarity (250-1000).

Rares/Holos are worth much more than commons and uncommons https://pastebin.com/qiRFEtxw

You get a minimum of 425 credits per pack (and an average of 600-800) if you transferred the full set from ptcgo. A regular set like champions path (which has guaranteed holos) would give you 165 credits per pack.

If you don't care too much about tanking your elo, the game will probably start pairing you up with other people using "bad" decks once you lose a few matches
I have some fond memories of scraping hard-fought wins with the shitty Psychic pile I cobbled together from opening free packs when I first started PTCGO

They missed a golden opportunity to have this game include ALL cards and ALL old formats. Normies would of eaten that shit up and paid big gacha bucks to pull virtual versions of cards that are worth thousands irl. It wouldn't even be hard to code all the old cards since the game has hardly had any new mechanics in it's 20+ years of existence.

Agreed, even just a one-off nostalgia format featuring Base Set and maybe the first couple of expansions would give the game a massive boost among casuals. If so much as one in ten of them went on to try out the modern TCG, they'd only stand to profit. Why do they hate money? Surely it can't be a rights issue with Wizards after Evolutions and Celebrations?

Yeah that is the Standard symbol. I was in the Standard deck making mode at the time so I thought maybe I just had to do it differently. That it can't handle changing a deck on the fly anymore perhaps, but when I found how to make it as an Extended deck it still lists illegal cards as the reason it's unplayable.

The "expanded beta" only goes back to SUM base set. I think they have as far back as breakthrough implemented but they aren't allowing it to be used yet.

Yeah. The game will give you enough to have a decent deck and from there you should be able to make more with the dailies and the free battle pass and since you havent played in 12 years I assume not having all the expanded cards in the game doesnt affect you
