The whole entry is fucked because Mega Evolution can "occur" anywhere as long as you have the Key Stone and Mega Stone. Once those are obtained, you can take them anywhere and Mega Evolve anywhere. Same with Z-Moves. Only Dynamax is truly region-specific.

My guess is that this is how Mega Salamence looks like in the past where they cannot control the energy that it gained and as a result, it looks more primal.

Whereas the Mega Salamence we know of now is able to control the energy it has and looked the way it is.
