>>52156883Yup, I started with Stadium. I lived out in the middle of nowhere in a vaguely coastal rural town, we had a local mom and pop tackle shop that sold fishing gear/bait and for some reason had like five VHSes and one N64 game you could rent, which was Stadium (oddly it had just come out, so being able to rent it for a week for like 5 bucks was luxury). It was so surreal that they had it to rent because the place was a cozy run down wooden shack basically, I never expected them to have Stadium in when the commercials for it had just started airing.
I rented it, got super into it, and when I had to return it my parents bought me my own copy, Not long after I talked them into getting me a copy of Yellow which I had to play through the Transfer Pak since I didn't have a Gameboy yet.
The first time I played Yellow on it was visiting a family's camper on the lake, I hooked the N64 up to a tiny portable TV and played it in the camper's kitchen with the door and windows open. It was in a wooded area so the sound of the actual bugs outside was louder than the music and it make the Viridian Forest feel so real and so alive.
Good times.
