R/G - first ones, shitty if we compare to games after these, but you can't compare because they are the base for the next ones
S/G - not as good as people remember, but quite better than first ones, a very good ones but not my cup of tea
Yellow - it was nice to play if you were a kid looking the anime at the time, but shitty if you dislike it or pikachu
crystal - more or less the same as g/s
ruby/sapphire - nice looking game in a diverse region, too bad the evil team is retarded and you have to choose side. the berries are neat
firered/leafgreen - oh yeah, Kanto but good looking, one of my faves because how simple and good it is
emerald - the Hoenh definitive version, quite better than ruby and sapphire
DP - for me, the best ones. Love the region, the visuals, some pokemon designs, team galactic, music, league, legendaries and small details that you are not obligued to reach but add an extra
Platinum - i guess it's even better diamond and pearl, but for me it's basically the same
Black and white - feels like going back to square one but in a non interesting region, filled with some of the best and a lot of the worst pokes, and also gym leaders. Team and rivals are retarded but try to look edgy and interesting. My least fave generation
BW2 - never cared enough to try it
XY - somehow feels unfinished and rushed at some point, but Lyssandre looked like an interesting baddie, also the 3d models, the PSS, rollerblades, etc. Again, details as 4th gen that you don't need but are still there for you. However, too short or rushed
SM - Even more unpolished and unfinished, feels at some points as a tech demo, and sometimes treats you as a little kid and shoves lillie down your throat. However, it has something unique and special and tries to be different, so points for trying, I guess
USUM - never tried, don't cared
LGPE - surprisingly the definitive kanto remake but with the bad aspect from yellow. The attention to the detail and the capture method feels great
