at 1/100 odds I'd just get annoyed at the animation occasionally happening
some shinies (antique sinistea) are also extremely rare

I already find shiny pokemon sort of retarded and pointless, and 9 times out of 10 significantly worse looking than the original, so I'd probably prefer this anyway.

they should just increase the shiny odds while also introducing other rarity-based alternate forms. alphas were pretty fun to catch in PLA for the novelty of big pokemon, it could work elsewhere

I genuinely don't get the mentality that shiny odds make shinies more or less valuable. Reminds me of the autistic kid in my high school class who swore to use pens for all his art class stuff and ended up with the same A grade as everyone else at the end, and his work wasn't anything special compared to anyone else in the room either. You can impose restrictions on yourself but it's not like it's making your work any more special than someone else's when the outcome is the same.
I hunt and it's for my own fun or time killer. I've hunted full odds shinies in GSC, RS, bred in multiple generations, none of them feel less special to me since I went out of my way to get them or randomly encountered a couple.

it's sunk cost fallacy sorta stuff. people have devoted a shitload of their time to shiny hunting, so they have an interest in preventing others from getting them easily, or it will feel to them like all that time was a complete and utter waste.
