Seriously, what is stopping them? They practically have given everything DD except for Chomp. They even took away Scale Shot from it! Bros, why does GameFreak hate Chomp so much?

Because it already has the best stat distribution of all pseudos. Even Baxcalibur has to deal with it's mediocre speed and poor defensive typing

Since they gave it Spikes, I think they now want Garchomp to be used as a tanky defensive/support mon. The days of it being a sweeper are gone

I don't know. I want to say it's because Chomp has an essentially perfect stat spread and DD would make it too strong, but Game Freak is also fucking garbage at balancing (see the Intimidate "nerfs" in Gen 8 or them having to nerf like 7 different things related to Thundurus over the course of 2 generations only for it ti become a meta staple again for a completely different reason) and gave strong shit like Urshifu Swords Dance now.

But it still has Scale Shot, SD and now Spikes too. Also got Liquidation.

Pokemon forget all known moves when transfered into gen 9 from Home and Garchomp does not learn Scale Shot in SV. There's no tutor. A LOT of Pokemon lost moves they previously had access to.

DD Chomp is such a meme at this point that it getting DD would cause it to instantly overshadow every other Dragon and Ground type in the game.
Your best bet is a remake with little emphasis on new Pokemon that isn't obsessed with being "faithful", otherwise it's a Never Ever.
