>>52187426I haven't fucked around with smogon shit until earlier this year. I always felt I had relative competancy for battle and within 3-4 months I manage to break top 500 of several tiers before taking a break and getting destroyed by their aggressive elo degredation.
I like the idea and spirit of trying to balance pokemon in separate tiers to get more realistic use out of them, but my lord is there some serious compression issues nowadays, mostly in uber though. Over half of what gets locked in that tier is unusable because of tremendous opportunity cost and it's so annoying. Wish they'd at least break it up in two for lesser and greater ubers.
I also wish they'd support ladders for other tiers in national dex, because there were a lot of mons I would've loved to use that were cut from gen 8 but can't really survive in something like nat dex uu.
