How do local battles work against someone in person?
Can it set your levels to 50/100 automatically?

Set to level 50 automatically, yes.
To 100? you have to level them up to that level if you want to fight over 50.

Yep and its worse than ever since it keeps counting during animation.
Smogon cartridge play is forever doomed. Good thing stall got heavily nerfed probably because battle spot abusers played around the timer.

Thanks, I knew about the timer during animations and stuff but I was just curious if it was different when playing local and not holding randoms hostage online

No all battle options are limited to 20min sadly but they made rematch possible in link battles which is great.
