All games before XY, and even to a lessr extent XY itself, for example, has floored dungeons. Except on a graph like this, it doesn't matter how many floors something has, nor how big an interior is. Victory Roads, villain hideouts, etc., are all made to seem less than they are by this metric.
In addition, having a wide, flat open field may be an explorable area, but that doesn't make it a good one.
