It wasn't though. The wild area had performance issues and insane pop in sure, but now the whole fucking game is like this.

Since when did games that look like they're from 2001, have ridiculous warping on cliffs, pop ins every 2 steps, sub 10 fps drops, N64/ps1 textures at times, some of the most lazy and uninspired design ever, etc. become good?

SV is basically if they decided the Wild Area was the entire game.

Anon I'm sorry, most of us defending the game are emulatorchads, for whom the game ran at 30+ fps. The fault lies in the switch itself.

The fault lies in GameFreak, don't defend them. There are tons of games on the Switch that don't have these problems at all and run just fine even when docked.

No excuse. Nintendo is able to squeeze out better performance from the system with open world Zelda, Game Freak is capable of it too. The actual issue is the ridiculous schedule they have that forces them to rush the game out when it is still unfinished.

You're playing on a dogshit TV if you don't notice the textures on pokemon. 2001 my ass. I fucking hated the last few gens as a whole but this game is actually pretty alright. It's not perfect but games never have perfect releases anymore. Elden Ring is probably the closest to a perfect release we've seen in years and even then I couldn't play online for a few days.

I agree that it could always be better but I'm not going to sit here and bitch about the game just to have those kikes at GF turn around and return to the same old shit because we all know they'll blame the fact that they switched up the formula instead of the release cycle. I'm genuinely enjoying it and I'm pleasantly surprised.

Wasn't aware 8k TVs are dogshit now. Also yes, it looks like its from 2001. Wind Waker released in 2002, MGS2 released in 2001, Halo 1 released in 2001, all which look about on par with SV, in fact some of their textures actually look better, granted some look worse, but SV doesn't look better as a collective by any means. SV might as well be comparable to KH1 with some slightly better textures (slightly being the keyword), which was released in 2002.
