If you play through gyms/titans/star through level order you actually need to pay attention to battles if you don't grind at all, which is annoying because the game is so fucking slow that you just end up mashing after a while to get through. There are so few trainer battles and you never really battle wild Pokemon so you always end up a little underlevelled and some trainers have a lot of unexpected coverage moves compared to normal. Not to mention it seems like I get status inflicted and miss moves fucking constantly.
