I started playing Scarlet as soon as I got home from work, stopped for the night right as I got to the city the school is in, and I already caught 3 shinies, a Psyduck, a Fletchling and a Lechonk. The Psyduck and the Fletchling were also legit within 5 mins of eachother. This feels insane

Holy shit shinies are soooooo easy to get in this game thanks to those pack outbreak spawns of 5. The Hoppip was even by itself.
You could argue what's even the point hunting them but goddamn do I want a shiny Grafaiai. He's my favorite of the gen.

Absolutely based. I am 100% going to exclusivity hunt tera raids in order to get unique typed shinies. Shiny teras are the true trophies of this game. Anyone try these yet? Do they have the chance for hidden abilities or something?

To collect the items to change, because you need 50 fucking shards of a single type, and you only get like at best 4 shards from a 5 star raid. Also IV's seem to work like the sw/sh raids did where you can end up with 4/6 or 5/6 mon's as a result making breeding easier.

5 minutes after finding a shiny jolly Dugtrio, I've found my barely changing daughter. Naive, and had to reset since I wanted to catch her in a Quick Ball. Outbreaks are nice.

Yeah pretty much.
Once you reach 60 KOs/Catches, turn off auto save and save the game. Then pop your Herba Mystica sandwich (if you can make one) and finish the outbreak. If you dont get a shiny, reload your save so you can try again AND not waste any herba mystica.

also what >>52211286 said does work, when you enter a picnic it forcibly despawns all pokemon, so if its not a bad location, you can just do that instead. Idk if its faster than Lets Go mode, but you dont have the risk of having the outbreak end from you killing all the pokemon, and they still count as being in the 60+ encounters range

On emulator I used to get new outbreaks every other hour, never paid attention, but on a legit copy I've had the same 3 for like 7 hours now. Started clearing them manually, but is it known what determines when new outbreaks spawn?

There has to be an increased rate in Area Zero to compensate for the lack of Outbreaks or something because holy shit these were a half hour apart random shinies

I can't confirm, but for my Charcadet I used picnic to reset and I don't think it counted as killed pokemon since I've done it for a few hours. I don't have access to the herba mystica, I don't even have a badge yet.

It forces rerolls but DOES NOT count as kills
basically it lets you infinitely extend the length of an Outbreak since you arent getting kills

You still need to get 60 kills to level up the outbreak to its max rate, but after than you can just use picnics to forcibly despawn and respawn without them counting as kills towards ending the Outbreak.

If its not somewhere you can do a picnic e.i. on the water, just going far enough away that pokemon despawn should be enough

There are icons for outbreaks, but not every pokemon icon is an outbreak. The easiest way I've found to check is to zoom the map out once, only the outbreak icons will be visible. It'll be a "?" with a red aura if you never battled the Pokemon, and will be the Pokemon with that same red aura if you have it at least "encountered" in your dex.

I’m just surprised, this is the first full odds shiny I’ve gotten that’s actually something cool, the only other ones I’ve had are two shiny wingulls, a shiny graveller and a shiny golbat. I haven’t even seen another shiny in this game either.
I’d brag to my friends about it by just throwing it out, but I don’t think any of them even know what the normal one looks like so they probably wouldn’t even realise it’s shiny.

Gamefreak made the stupid decision to make a ton of them barely ever change, so don't blame me, blame them. either it's an incredbly quiet sound que that you can miss, or a delayed sound que with maybe a delayed sparkle would be perfect. but of course we can't even have that because in this game, shit despawns really quick, and your on a fucking motorcycle all the time, so even if you did hear a delayed sound que, when you turn back, it's most likely already despawned.

you're wanting something that could be amazing, but just can never happen in a gamefreak game because 1) gamefreak WANTS certain shinies for some god awful reason to not even remotely look different, and 2). will NEVER make a game that runs well performance wise to even humor the idea of a delayed anything.

Randomly walked into a route with only a couple badges, and there was a Wattrel swarm. I heard people here talking about swarm hunting in the new games, so I figured I had a couple minutes to spam auto battles. Holy shit it worked. I got this in 10 minutes. Shiny hunting is STUPID easy in these games.

Then check for shinies, open picnic, close picnic, and check the new reroll for shinies and repeat. With shiny charm and sandwich multipliers the rates are insane

What do you mean by that ? I got my Charcadet in that exact way, the shiny status is kept, even after the reset, if you're in front of the shiny.
