Also SwSh and PLA have some memory leak, but BPSD no which is made in Unity (but BPSD is a shit game), so the problem is the game engine.

I don't use Google, have a ton of anti-tracking, and I clear everything on browser close. Google shows it as the top suggestion for 'memory leak'.

It's Gamefreak they didn't even patch Shiny Giratina origin bug in PLA yet. And that should have been easy because its just adding an animation.

i've had this happen with a few heavier switch games
you also need to reboot or else the problem will just arise again after a couple of minutes
either switch gamedevs are just so stupid they can't into memory management or it is the switch os itself that just handles it poorly
probably a mix of both

So does putting your game in sleep mode fix the issue? I never play for 4+ hours, but I do leave my switch in sleep mode a lot. I've had the game crash on me 3 times so far, so I wonder if it's because of the memory leak issue

No, the game is still "running" when the Switch is in sleep mode. Your play time continues going up and you'll notice that the time of day changes when you come back to SV after leaving it in sleep mode for a while. You need to totally close the game to avoid this. This isn't terribly uncommon for Switch games at launch, and should be fixable.

I'd say Skyrim since the game actively punishes you more the more you play it until the game eventually becomes actually unplayable. SV is bad from the start but it's not unplayable by any means, and at the very least the memory leak should be fixed. Rendering the whole map on the other hand, that seems baked in to me.

You're a jackass repeating tech words to try to look like an authority on the subject. Violet and Scarlet's problems aren't caused by a memory leakage. In Bloodborne PS4 the memory leakage slowed down all the bosses and in Skyrim PS3 the framerate dropped to 1-10. The bugs and visual glitches affecting Pokémon Violet and Scarlet go way beyond memory, but you and Twitter 15 year old genius think you figure it all out so you parrot your same garbage. Just as stupid as I'd expect zoomers to tech troubleshoot.

I think it'll be a lot longer than 21 days, that's the real issue. There's no small fix here, the issues are widespread and affecting many different things. It's a real shame too because the game didn't bad, just needed another two months of fine tuning..

Calm yourself, sperg. No one is attributing all of SV's problems to memory leakage, but if you play for a few hours the already bad performance dips even further, and restarting seems to alleviate it. That's memory leak 101.

you don't get it, putting your switch on sleep doesn't restart the game, if you play 1 hour each day for 4 days it counts as 4 consecutives hours, you either close the app or restart your switch

would've been awesome to know before i lost several hours of progress because the game black screened at the olive rolling minigame. now i gotta grind 10-20 more levels on everything, do another couple dozen raids, run around clicking for all the items i lost and kill a titan again, none of which i will do right now because strangely i dont feel like playing after getting fucked over so hard.

Yeah, I figured that was the case. The game was starting to micro stutter on me so I quit the game and reloaded and it was, mostly, alright again. It's such a strange feeling, I'm enjoying the game way more than SwSh but from a technical standpoint the game is straight up broken.

Virtually every Switch game has this. Xenoblade 2 crashes if you jump between multiple different areas in a short timespan, which is required a lot for the later game.
