When I first saw the starters it was
Quaxly > Sprigatito > Fuecoco

Quaxly seemed neat and I was excited to see what its evolutions would be
Sprigatito was cute af
Fuecoco looked mentally challenged

Now it's Fuecoco > Sprigatito > Quaxly because Meowscarada is a generic furfag and Quaquaval is just some offensive and ugly gay thing. Skeledirge is also just cool without being cringe.

When the first Reveal happened
It was the Duck 100%,
But I didn't hate the Croc it grew on me it was cute

The Cat right from the start I can smell from a mile away its going to be a Fursona mascot the only thing missing is a rose whip.

The Duck is probably the biggest drop I have ever seen happened in Pokemon history even bigger than Chesnught, Incineroar and Primarina.

no other choice but the clown croc we can always box him anyway.

Torch Song is much more useful than those alternatives. Its a sound-based attack which ignores substitutes and leaves room for strats like Throat Spray, making it objectively better than Fire Blast. Overheat could work on a specs set or a set that would rely on TS's special attack boosts for an occasional nuke but otherwise your better off just spamming it's signature move to snowball stat boosts for it's non-fire type attacks

The problem is that nothing is preventing you from switching into literally any good offensive mon and killing it. The 80bp move isn't gonna threaten shit and if you're not running full bulk then it's just gonna die on the next attack. So many threats are ground/dark/ghost/rock, fire+ghost is just such a shitty typing for a slow mon like this.

I don't think it'll be god tier but whats with the fixation underestimating this thing? Its has more potential than the other two(Cat would easily be the best with Protean's original mechanics and there are less gimmicky sweepers than a duck whos selling point is a water Flame Charge)
