The second one. Paradox Suicune breaks the lore of the trio, they didn’t share a common ancestor and evolve into their modern forms in the traditional sense, they were transformed by Ho-Oh and were all the same Pokémon beforehand. There’s also no real explanation for why the future paradoxes are just “modern-day Pokémon but robot” instead of proper speculative evolution

So what’s the explanation for it being in the DLC then? If an in-universe fakemon becomes real, what’s the reasoning behind that? Clearly all Paradox Pokémon came from someone’s imagination and the third legendary brought them into existence.

i'm inclined to believe them as imaginary than actual past/future forms because how boring would it be that all pokemon in the future are just them as robots without some adopting a more alienlike form implying they took a different evolution path due to survival instincts. Past forms are debatable like with Salamence, it should've gotten a wingless form insteas of salamence but caveman-ish. I hope game freak won't ditch the imaginary concept the same way they ditch the entire alien forms back in XY where the mega stones were giving certain pokemon a more alien mutated form a la john carpenter enforcing the idea that they might be thanks to deoxys and there are other beings far in space

Imaginary. Cyclizar is explicitly mentioned to be in murals 10,000 years ago, not Koraidon. If Koraidon was even older than those murals, then it shouldn't have a wheel sticking out of its chest. Also, Amoongus had pokeball camo when there wouldn't be any pokeballs in existence to take the influence from, we see in PLA that Voltorb takes influence from the pokeballs of the time instead of modern ones, so a prehistoric Amoongus having those is impossible. Also even by the standards of Pokemon the Iron Jugulis entry is completely ridiculous

The past mons are implied to have come from the age of dinosaurs (with Flutter Mane being a pterodactyl fsr), minus roaring moon which seems to be a ooga booga version of Mega Salamence, all other mons are mon but dinosaur with yellow eyes. Future mons just don't make sense at all

Everyone is assuming the future dex entries represent something that happens in the future to create the pokemon in question, but my theory is that there's some Alan Wake shit going on in Paldea. Iron Valient talks about a mad scientist who probably wrote about a Gallade/Gardevoir fusion, and that's what it is. Jugulis is from a fiction paranormal magazine brought to live, as well as the other paradox mon that mentions aliens. The future paradoxes are brought to life from fictional writing, while the past mons are brought to life through the writings of incomplete research journals and theories on what these pokemon could have been.

it's pretty much this, take Moon for example, they have Kalos as a neighbour nation, so some explorator probably just saw a Mega Salamence flying at night, shat his pants and drew what he thought he saw.

The thing about the Paradoxes is that, according to the Pokedex, their history is different depending on the version.
In Scarlet, the past paradoxes were said to be ancient Pokemon described in the old expedition journal while future paradoxes were rumored alien and robotic creatures from pseudo-science magazines.
In Violet, it's the opposite, the future paradoxes were relics (they're explicitly described as objects) described by the expedition journal while the past paradoxes were cryptids that pseudo-science magazines claimed were ancient forms still alive today.
Koraidon and Miraidon take it a step further. They have absolutely no record of their existence in their opposite version.
So they have no consistent backstory, and even within each version there are inconsistencies. Why would Sada/Turo need a time machine if the totally legit reports claim these Pokemon are already living in the present day?

Gen 5 felt like they were so close to expand a more engaging story and fun lore that could last for ages but TPC held them back due to time constrains and not since then game freak pitch some interesting concept and just work as much as TPC allows them to, this is why XY felt empty and leave clues that lead nowhere SM just threw something different and leave it at that, SnS took a step back to show us a more easy self contained lore

Well, yeah, that was my point. The Paradoxes have a different history between the two versions.
It's unprecedented. Version differences usually just amounted to a Legendary Pokemon appearing in place of another but their backstory was consistent. Now we have two directly opposing versions of the lore.
I assume the DLC will tie everything together somehow because this is a pretty bold move for Game Freak.

I slightly think this is the case, after the events of the game the station in which the time machine is hidden gets covered in crystal. I think the theory that makes most of the sense is that the tera legendary was summoned by the Paldean Empire somehow or was discovered by them and then the events unfold:
1) Paldean empire wishes Ko/mi donphan into existence (donphan is an elephant mont which was used by Carthage and Hannibal, so maybe pokeHannibal needed a stronger donphan so he imagined it). They may have made other pokemon appear too.
2) 1st expedition sees past/future donphan and takes photo, they also apparently see other paradoxes since the dex says they ressemble sketches in the books.
3) 2nd expedition (sada/turo) keeps going into the crater and 'builds' the time machine which takes energy from the tera crystals and ko/miraidon gets transported into this reality.

This looks like a fire emblem fates situation. Both first versions were incomplete and the final DLC showed the 'true' ending.

Another thing I don't understand is why Koraidon and past paradoxes are sun related. Electric terrain in future forms make sense but sun? The opposite of electricity / tech is nature so wouldn't grassy terrain make more sense for past paradoxes since the era before mankind had more green areas? Perhaps they wanted to avoid yet another duo with weather/terrain wars.

Maybe that third legendary is related to the dream world? We know from black and white it's a place where pokemon can manifest and can pass to the physical world. It's a huge stretch but the topic of dreams comes up often in Scarlet Violet and in PLA, Ingo got transported to ancient Hisui, and Ingo's game is where the dream world and entralink debuted in

I doubt there's any direct relation.
People thought the Ultra Beasts were going to have some relation to Sinnoh in anticipation of the DP remakes since dimensional travel is kind of Palkia's thing, which the games even reference, but they had no bearing on BDSP, PLA or anything Sinnoh related.
Turned out it was still another generation away and likewise
the BW remakes probably aren't till gen 10 anyway.

They are multiverse pokes from versions of the universe in the past or the present. Nowhere is it said that it's imagination related but we already see that scarlet and violet have different universes beginning with the profs and which academy you go to. The pokes are like UBs and remember with a paradox in the past it's not internally consistent with the present like paradox suicune so some alt universe shenanigans must happen

The game spells it out for you, what is there to understand? The autistic professor filled their mind with ideas from popular fiction and theories about what Pokemon looked like in the past or will look like in the future and then ended up in close proximity to a thing that makes the imagined real.
