He's still a rare spawn, but you have Dudunsparce being more Dunsparce than Dunsparce, by being way rarer since it doesn't spawn in the wild at all, and then Three-Segment being absurdly rarer than Two-Segment despite there being no difference whatsoever.
The part that made it really work for me was going down to the bottom of Area Zero, and suddenly literally every other wild pokemon is a Dunsparce, and Dudunsparce is now a rare spawn instead. I get why people are dissapointed but people love Dunsparce BECAUSE he's just this cute little chubby snake with tiny angel wings that don't do anything, and it's absurdly rare but not remarkable in any way once you actually get one, and Dudunsparce just plays on that while also feeling like its a genuine upgrade and not just for the joke.
On that same note, another funny thing about Area Zero is that you can't actually find Corviknight anywhere in the game, the reason being that Tinkaton's hunt them like crazy, and Area Zero is the only place without any Tinkaton.
>>52221732The pokedex entries say they used to be considered to be Regional Variants, but realized they were a Mushroom/Fish or something along those lines. Honestly, they basically for all intents and purposes are Regional Variants, they have the same general stat spread and look mostly the same, I think what it is is that they didn't want to lock themselves into having to make Regional Variants TOO similar to the original, plus by not having the same pokedex number, they count as different species for VGC too.
