Are we ever going to get another one? This one is my favourite because of the borderline edgy 2000’s fanfic feel of it, just warms the heart ya know?

It introduced talking Pokemon and evil villain Pokemon (Darkrai), so hopefully there will never be another one again. It's a travesty against Tajiri's vision. Pokemon are supposed to be innocent pets, NOT sapient and potentially evil beings.

This game has had several sequels and was remastered for Switch. It's one of the most successful side games so yes there will probably be another.

Like extra episodes?
I know there's Megas and Shinies, but what about an Episode Gengar or what not.

there are various romhacks floating around that make the games harder. Nothing that makes them as complex as a usual roguelike, but they won't be as piss easy without serious cheesing at least.

I don't think there's anything outright new; like you have crossgen evos and riolu, movesets, abilities, etc. are g7 standard
there are some curveballs that make certain things play differently but the content is more or less the same.
postgame content is easier to access at least;
like holy shit what were they thinking in the original rescue team by locking a storyline behind a friend area you can only get by hoping a mission awards you it
