Because I like most people have found memories of the things I enjoyed in my childhood. I find myself going back to games I liked as a kid and mastering them and installing mods or modding them myself. I get more enjoyment out of doing that than spending money on whatever new game that is a rehash of something that has been done before. Basically nostalgia is a powerful drug.

Im 34 and I recently got back into pokemon. Tried playing diamond but dropped it because boring. Almost dropped arceus because it boring. At episode 105 or something on the newest anime (havent watched any since childhood). Also watched every pokemon movie ( most were pretty bad though). Emulated violet, might be the best one Ive played. Ive played red,silver,black and sword
